Right away we could tell that the the landscape was a picture of a real landscape. It looks like it came off of Google Earth or Google Maps, so what we decided to do was LITERALLY go to the Congo. Hash installed Google Earth, made the long, horrible, trip deep into the Congo and took a large variety of pictures for inspiration. Once he noticed a pattern of rivers we decided to extract the river directly from Google Earth. Once imported into the original picture we used some photoshop manipulation and formed the river into SOS. From a role playing aspect we used our hands, shoes, makeshift shovels, anything we could find to dig a trench from a nearby river, we spent hours shaping it into the SOS formation and a few more hours lining the formation with dirt, rocks, and sticks (the brown you see outlining the river). Once that task was complete, we piled more dirt into big piles and laid broken, and fallen trees at the top of the piles to spell out HELP and AIDE. Since French is the official language of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, we figured we should cover both languages to increase our chances of rescue. Just like in normal Survivor we wanted to be around when the plane came over head so the second we heard that plane we took off towards our rescue signal and shooked our flag like there was no tomorrow.
