The idol rules say this:
* If at Tribal Council idols are played and the result is a 0-0 decision, there will be a revote, however, the players who used their idol would be fully vulnerable. * If after a revote there is still a tie, the castaway obtaining the most iSurv1vor points will stay.
What if at Tribal Council idols are played and the result is a X-X (not 0-0, but 1-1 or 2-2) decision? Are the players who used their idol still fully vulnerable? Or is it just a revote between the top vote getters?
Let's say it was
2 votes for Carl (IDOL USED) 2 votes for Betty 2 votes for Mark
The vote is a 2-2 tie for Betty and Mark. So is the revote versus Betty and Mark because they both got 2 votes? Or is it between everybody, with no one being safe?
What if the vote was:
3 votes for Betty 3 votes for Mark 0 votes for Andrew (IDOL USED)
Here Andrew didn't get any votes, but used his idol. Is Andrew still safe in the revote, because he "wasn't a part of the tie"?

Betty v Mark would go ahead, they're eligible to be voted against The Idol grants you Immunity, self explanatory. Safe from the vote. It'd be a shitty idol otherwise

So you are saying that the idol always gives you full immunity through that round, even through revotes, EXCEPT when it's 0-0-0-0-0-0-0, then by necessity everyone becomes vulnerable and we vote again?

Yes. Play your idol and have votes going against another castaway who doesnt have an idol - or doesnt play an idol. All will be good.
Play your idol and the result of the vote is 0 - then expect a revote where your idol holds no more value.

can you give your challenge-won immunity to another player? is there a time limit for doing that?

Yes you can, but you must announce it in the tribal thread as opposed to playing it with your vote.
