I have often imagined myself in the shoes of Sagar, Chris and Sam. If I were in their position, what would I be doing to further myself in the game?
What they should have done is worked together. Had one of them stepped up to the plate (I would have done this if the people with me were too chicken) and said: "One of those mystery boxes could have a hidden immunity idol in it. You guys take the immunity and the express pass and I will take my chances with a mystery box", they would have had more of a fighting chance.
Sure, it is a gamble - but when your back is to the wall you have got nothing to lose. A big, bold risk is exactly what is needed in that kind of situation.
Let's say it pays off and I got an immunity idol in their situation. They could then start playing mind games with every last member of the majority alliance and sew seeds of paranoia. The tribal council would force them to vote out one of their own and possibly create a rift, whereby we could find a niche in the next round - effectively giving ourselves a chance to avoid a Pagonging.
Let's say that it didn't work. The majority alliance DOESN'T NEED TO KNOW that you actually didn't get a hidden immunity idol. You could still bluff like a mother fucker and I guarantee someone will get spooked. You could possibly still have a shot at creating cracks by offering your one vote to assist in a blindside and then showing that person whose name is mentioned to get them to run to other members of the alliance.
Even that may not work, but it is SOMETHING. It is better than devouring other people in your same situation only to make it to the next vote and be voted out anyway because you exposed your true colours and willingness to stab your friends in the back.
You can't win this game without bold moves...
